Update: Sponsorship, Somewhat Ad-free and More

Update: Sponsorship, Somewhat Ad-free and The Not So Distant Future

It has been several months since I’ve written about irateANIME and its future. Due to some exciting stuff happening in the last couple of months, I’ve decided that it’s time to share some great news with all three of you that read our content.

Sponsorship

You might not know, but our blog is currently being hosted on a free service provided by WordPress.com. While the service is really great for anyone who wants to start a blog, it’s very limited when it comes to customization (looks and functionality). At the very start, the features we were provided with were enough, but now that we’re looking to expand and make irateANIME better (without having to starve ourselves), it just doesn’t do it anymore.

Luckily enough, we we’re able to find ourselves a host who was willing to sponsor us and provide us with a free hosting plan and other goodies for the foreseeable future. That being said, we want to thank Hostisto for being awesome by sponsoring us and giving us the chance to run our blog without any restraints whatsoever.

The move to the new servers will happen either sometime next week or in the first week of February. We’ll do our best to make the move as seamless as possible and prevent any downtime whatsoever, hopefully we’ll make it.

Somewhat Ad-free

I’ve mentioned before that I personally would like to make irateANIME completely ad-free. With this new sponsorship, this is now certainly possible, but will not go into effect. One of the reasons is that we have to provide some compensation to our sponsor and in our case this is a banner ad that will be seen in the sidebar of our blog (small and non-intrusive).

The other reason for why we may not be completely ad-free is because we may* be adding a Crunchyroll affiliate button to some** of our review posts. The button will be provided in a nice fashion and we’ll do our best to present it in a way that will not annoy you, our readers.

*If we get approved by Crunchyroll. We’re a small blog after all.

**Reviews of titles that can be found on Crunchyroll’s service.

The Not So Distant Future

Once again, due to this sponsorship, a lot of new things that previously weren’t possible will now become plausible. I’ve already started working (locally) on some things that should improve irateANIME when we finally move to Hostisto’s servers. Majority of them are very small adjustments mostly related to the presentation of the blog, but I don’t want to spill the beans so you’ll just have to wait for the move to occur.

One thing that is guaranteed to happen is that we will begin to post more adult content. We tended to sway away from adult content, because on WordPress.com we would be punished for publishing it by being removed from their search engine. In other words, if you’re a fellow hentai fan, you can look forward to such content in the future.

My real name is Andraž, but online most people call me KAMI. While I have a passion for tech and games; anime is my true love. In my free time, I like to watch anime and write about things that interest me.
